Graduate Admission Exams (GRE & GMAT)

Meet Graduate Admission and Military-Specific Program Requirements

Program Overview

Why take the GRE? You are beginning a journey toward your future and you want to put your best foot forward. Whether planning to go to graduate school, business school - or just exploring your education options, show the schools that you are applying to that you have the skills necessary for graduate or business school. DANTES provides reimbursement for the GRE General and GRE Subject Tests to help you meet entrance requirements for graduate school and/or military-specific programs. The GRE General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you'll do in graduate or business school. The GRE® Subject Tests are achievement tests that measure your knowledge of a particular field of study. DANTES reimburses GRE® test fees for eligible military personnel.

Student Benefits

  • Supports meeting graduate admission and military-specific program requirements.
  • Helps you do your best on test day. With the GRE General Test, you decide which scores to send to schools. If you feel you didn't do your best on test day, that's okay. Send only the scores you want schools to see.
  • Save money! DANTES reimburses test fees.

Program Eligibility

All active-duty Service members (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard), as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve components, are eligible to take both a DANTES-reimbursed GRE General and a GRE Subject exam.
