ACT Assessment Test (ACT)
Civilian examinees should visit ACT: http://www.act.org
ACTs taken at a National Test Center are not funded or reimbursed by DANTES.
The ACT Assessment test is an admissions requirement at some colleges. The instrument consists of a battery of four academic tests that measure academic development in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. The Assessment provides scores on the four tests, a composite score, and seven sub scores which provide more detailed information concerning an individual's academic development. Calculators are permitted but not required.
The ACT examination with the Optional Writing Test is not available at DANTES Test Sites. Examinees who are required to take the Writing Test as part of an application process may take the SAT with the required Writing Test at a DANTES Test Site. The ACT with the Optional Writing Test may be taken at a National Test Center on a self-pay basis.
DANTES funds one administration at a DANTES Test Site, for eligible Service members, on either the ACT Assessment or the SAT for a Service or education requirement. DANTES Test Sites can test military personnel any time other than national test center dates. For additional information about testing at DANTES Test Sites, see the Test Control Officer at your local base education center or contact DANTES Code 20C1 at (850) 452-1111 ext. 3132.
