HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY (GED®) EXAMINATION

The GED examination is for individuals who have not completed their formal high school education. The 2002-Series GED Tests measure knowledge in five different areas:  Language Arts, Writing; Language Arts, Reading; Mathematics; Science and Social Studies. An important feature of the GED Tests is an essay that documents the ability to write and communicate effectively. 

The GED Tests usually require some preparation; about one-third of graduating high school seniors don't pass the tests under current score requirements. Each spring, the tests are administered to a sample group of graduating high school seniors. To pass, examinees must perform as well as or better than 67 percent of those seniors.
